Sometimes a mailbox is just a mailbox. Other times it's a full size US Postal Service box at the local convenience store. Nearer to Floresville than La Vernia.

Sunflower season has arrived. There were plenty to choose from along the roadside.

Cactus Country

Here's some cactus I found while driving through the backroads of La Vernia. Actually, not far from downtown. The cactus patch was very thick with some prickly pear over 5ft tall and many feet in diameter.

Almost Rain

Well we almost got rain. There was enough to cancel the San Antonio Wheelmen bicycle ride that was going to start in Elmendorf. Oh well, maybe today is a better day for taking some pictures.
